Thirty-four Woodville High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society on Monday, April 30 at the Woodville High School Summit Auditorium.
Twenty-four Senior NHS members were presented with their NHS stoles in appreciation for their time and dedication to Woodville High School and their community.
The Ceremony was led by Senior NHS Members and NHS President Rane Prak. Eli Shirley started the ceremony off with the invocation, next were the pledges led by members Maura Fentress. Jordan Givens, Halee Kozma and Noverlena Releford then led the attendees in the singing of the National Anthem.
Senior NHS Members described the importance of the National Honor Society. Jordan Givens started off with the history of the NHS. The four pillars of the National Honor Society were presented next with Noverlena Releford presenting the aspects of Scholarship, Josie Watts described service, Sidney Smith described Leadership and Brianna Sirmons concluded the presentation with the character description.
Principal Morgan Wright led the next part of the ceremony by presenting the new members with their Certificates of Induction. Then came the traditional candlelight ceremony and reciting of the NHS Oath which was led by Senior Claire Robinson.
A special thank you to Junior NHS members who contributed greatly to many different tasks during the ceremony. Your dedication made a great impact.
We are very proud of our inductees and expect them to continue to strive for excellence as NHS members in the years to come.
