WHS Welcomes Mr. Young!

Terry Young is proud to be making the move into Eagle Country  as the new Principal at Woodville High School. Mr. Young grew up in Browndell, Texas and attended Brookeland High school before embarking on the pursuit of his degrees at Angelina College, Sam Houston State University, and Abilene Christian University. Drawing on a collective 26 years of experience in the field of education, Terry Young has had the opportunity to serve students as a teacher, coach, athletic director, assistant principal, principal, and as an associate superintendent; he is excited for the new leadership opportunity!

It is Mr. Young’s belief that the some of the most important challenges of a school leader include the creation of a safe and collaborative school culture, fostering one’s leadership capacity, and overall improvement of the student experience through exposure to impactful educational opportunities with real world applications.The belief in continued education drives the desire for personal and professional development through the enrollment in the Organizational Leadership Doctoral program at Abilene Christian University.

Mr. Young and his wife Lakeisha are the proud parents of two boys: Rashad Fillyaw who is attending Lamar Institute  of Technology and Mason Young who is four. They value family time and believe God’s will should be the primary focus of life.
