For the second six weeks test, students in physics had to design and build a desktop catapult. The kids had to do multiple calculations while building the catapult, and then once complete, they had to complete multiple activities concerning Kinetic Energy, Elastic Potential Energy, and Transfer of Energy. Although this was a test of their knowledge, it also allowed students to focus on what the calculations really meant as well as being able to see the big picture of why these calculations are important. Students were also able to see and feel the transfer on energy by using the catapult.
