5th grade students at Woodville Intermediate wrote essays on what they would like to be when they grow up. They also added the college that they would like to attend. Mrs. Moses has been sending the essays to the college of their choice. We received our first package in the mail today. The students that have chosen SFA are super excited. We appreciate Stephen F. Austin University for being kind and sending our students some goodies.
🚑🚒🚔CAREERS ON WHEELS🚔🚒🚑 On March 15th, we will host a “Careers on Wheels” event for Pre-K through 5th grade students. We are looking for businesses that depend on transportation as a vital part of their job. Examples would be police, fire firefighters, home health, ambulance service, delivery services, logging business, truck drivers, train conductor, pilots, technicians for multiple areas, flower service, and many more. If you are interested in having a booth for this event, please complete the form posted on our Facebook page. More information will be sent out in the upcoming weeks. Woodville Intermediate and Wheat Elementary held our first Teacher Cookie War contest yesterday. Mrs. Burkhalter won “Most Creative” and “Best Tasting” went to Mrs. Wilson. Our Eagle Ambassadors from both schools along with Wheat’s GT students were able to visit our local nursing homes to donate the cookies. They had a wonderful time visiting the residents and bringing a smile to their faces.
We have quite the competition going on this holiday season at WIS! 🎄Students can buy their favorite teacher a “Grinch heart”❤️ and place it outside their door. The person with the most hearts by the end of the season will get to be BE the Grinch for the day!! 😂 The hearts will be available to buy for a quarter at breakfast. 🦅❤️ .25 #bringyourquarters

These first few days at Woodville Intermediate have been fantastic!!😀 Safety is our number one priority, a yellow “Back to School” letter was sent home with students today regarding pick up and drop off reminders for the morning and afternoon. Pleas be sure to use the cross walk if you are crossing Charlton Street when picking up your child in the afternoons! We are so excited about this school year! It’s a great day to be an eagle 🦅
Beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, Woodville ISD will require that students only use clear or mesh backpacks. This policy will be enforced district wide, grades pre-K through 12th. The clear or mesh backpack policy only pertains to the backpack itself. Contents inside the backpack such as pencil boxes, notebooks, glasses cases, and pouches for makeup or other personal belongings are still permitted.
STAAR Test results are in! Student reports will be mailed home today. Also, details on how to access the report online will be provided on the STAAR results report. Mrs. Burkhalters 4th graders enjoyed a popcorn activity showing the flow of energy from the sun👉plants👉herbivore👉carnivore. The teacher was the sun and gave the energy (popcorn) to the plants, the plants were able to eat some popcorn, and then the mice took the energy (popcorn) from the plants. Finally, the owls took the energy (popcorn) from the mice. #4thgrade #STEM #engaged ❤️🦅
